“Then sayeth HE unto HIS disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the LORD of the harvest that HE will send forth labourers into HIS harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38).
First things first, I want to give all the credit to the LORD GOD in CHRIST JESUS, for this special opportunity to be of some service to HIM in HIS kingdom. The ideas here comes from the LORD, by HIS grace alone.
I want to share the methods I use for doing gospel tracts distribution/street preaching; and I hope it would be of some help to you, the reader, to help you with the similar endeavour that the LORD places in your heart for a ministry like this.
Prayer is the foremost item you need to have, before you even attempt anything. Prayer from other believers, your own personal prayers, and quiet time prayers (in your war room).
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto GOD. And the peace of GOD, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through CHRIST JESUS.” (Phlippians 4:6)
Then you need to spend time in HIS HOLY WORD, the “sword of the SPIRIT”. That is our life source. Here is where you get your guidance/direction from the HOLY SPIRIT of ALMIGHTY GOD.
“NUN. THY WORD is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105).
This, along with trust in the ALMIGHTY GOD.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
It is the LORD GOD who opens the doors for you, who brings people your way to hear the gospel. “Not by might, nor by power, but by MY SPIRIT, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6).

The first item you need is the HOLY BIBLE, GOD’s HOLY WORD. And if you have any Gideon’s New Testament Bibles, that’ll be better. But have a complete Bible with you at all times – as much as possible.
P. S. It will be very helpful if you have scriptures memorized – “THY WORD have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against THEE”, “I will delight myself in THY statutes: I will not forget THY WORD.” (Psalm 119:11, 16).

Then make yourself a decent size poster board with scripture references and pictures that is eye-catching and related to your message.

And take plenty of gospel tracts with you. You’ll find that these gospel tracts will disappear fairly quickly depending on your location. You can buy the tracts from various gospel tracts distributors, and you can also get “free” ones from Gospel Tracts and Bible Society – click on this link for their web site. Or you can make your own, like I do, as the LORD gives you the resources – like abilities, ideas, financial, and material items – or even when you have limited resources. The LORD GOD is well able to provide for you – hasn’t HE given you life? Hasn’t HE given you HIS most precious possession, HIS SON, the LORD JESUS?

With all that, you might want to, even though you really don’t need to, use a tablet to play some gospel music to start off the activity. Yours truly (me) uses my tablet to play a video preaching to preach the good news to bystanders while I offer them the gospel tracts. Of course, you can do it the way the LORD GOD would have you do it – do the preaching yourself.

I also take a portable loud speaker with me that is blue-tooth enabled, which I connect to my tablet to resonate whatever I am playing in my tablet – in my case, the gospel preaching video. And I can place the blue-tooth portable loud speaker at a reasonable distance from my tablet.

Lastly, but not least, always keep your mind on the main/central focus of all this – and for who this is all about – and that is the LORD JESUS! “For we preach not ourselves, but CHRIST JESUS the LORD; and ourselves your servants for JESUS’ sake.” (2 Corinthians 4:5).
The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. “How can they call on HIM in whom they have not believed? and how can they believe in HIM of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher.” (Romans 10:14).
